A Fresh Approach to Estate Planning
“That’s been one of my mantras – focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex. You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”
This quote, attributed to Steve Jobs, serves as inspiration for the Claritas Planning process. The process is for those willing to work hard to gain clarity about responses to very important questions. If we choose to act, we can voice our wishes; we can document the answers to these questions. This advance planning enables us to move the metaphorical mountains, not only for our benefit but for those most important in our lives.
The Claritas Planning process goes beyond the usual questions about who and what are in our lives. Clients are asked to dig deep and consider why, when, where and how. These components provide the seeds for fruitful discussions and explorations between clients and attorney about histories, beliefs regarding current situations, and future plans and goals.
Claritas Planning is intended to be an eye-opening experience, to raise awareness about what needs to be tended to in our lives, and to provide the tools to express some of our most important communications. A quote by Jordan B. Peterson is fitting in that the process unveils that our life experience is about
“. . .the domain not of matter, but of what matters.”
